We strongly recommend building Galleries and SlideShows with Flickr.
Flickr is free. You can create an account for your chapter.
Be sure to upload with all appropriate information -- such as photographer, location, plant ID, etc.
Organize in Flickr, then use Flickr to make slide shows. Flicker will provide embed code for them.
Flickr slideshows are dubiously mobile friendly -- they work, but they don't morph well.
If you have plenty of time and patience, there are slideshows that you can embed that will read from your Flickr account and give you a truly responsive slide show.
